- Marketing and packaging – e.g. by looking at the significance of plain packaging in Norway compared to the other Nordic countries and how marketing and packaging affects uptake, use and perceptions.

Nordic Cancer Union has announced two calls for applications regarding strategic projects: 1) New tobacco products, snus and e-cigarettes. 2) Research projects on socioeconomic inequality and cancer. Application deadline: 2 September 2019.
Strategic projects concerning new tobacco products, snus and e-cigarettes
NCU invites relevant applicants to apply for funding targeted at strategic projects concerning new tobacco products and nicotine containing products (smokeless tobacco, snus, chewing tobacco, heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes). We encourage not only applications targeting classical research/science projects but also projects with a more broad approach.
The project(s) should give insight to the prevalence of use of smokeless tobacco, snus, chewing tobacco, heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes in the Nordic Countries2 especially with focus on their use and appeal among children and adolescents with the aim of proposing recommendations for a common NCU policy in the area.
